Own introduction 2019. Selected for its extraordanary dwarf habitus and long flowering period and the terminal flower will produce a seedhead too which last a couple of weeks.In Holland the flowers attrack insects, especially honey bees and bumble bees.
The plant in the hanging basket one 3-year old plant, the photo is not "photo-shopped".
At Plantarium Trade Show in Boskoop 2019, Clematis LITTLE LEMONS was awarded with a Gold Medal and choosen as "Best New Introduction".
The plant will have the first flowers at the end of May and will continue to flower into July. When the plant runs out of flowers at the end of June or early July, cut back the plant a bit by pruning the stems at about half way. After pruning give the plant a bit of liquid (house plant) fertilzer, just once. The plant will regrow and reflower soon. |
