As a winterhardy Clematis, this is one of the last to flower in the season. Flowering time may start in July but usually much later, September or even in October. Especially bumbelbees will visit the flowers as most garden plants are out of flower and October will be too early for Ivy / Hedera to flower. The flowers are slightly fragrant.
